Mr. Anthony G. Ostler, President and CEO of the Canadian Bankers Association has been elected chair of the International Banking Federation (IBFed). His term, starting January 2025, will run through January 2027.
As chair, Mr. Ostler will work with members who come from national banking trade associations from major financial centres to discuss and develop strategies on key issues impacting financial institutions. Among Mr. Ostler’s priorities as chair of the organization is the rise of frauds and scams internationally and the role the IBFed can play to help address this global epidemic affecting economies worldwide. Mr. Ostler also wants to work with international colleagues to raise the banking industry’s voice in helping to navigate the post-peak regulatory phase to increase productivity and drive prosperity.
